Automatic Association:

Let me introduce you to The Game. By the way, you all just lost the game. Oh, and so did I. Haha, well most of you probably know what it is, but for those who don't, it works like this:

    1) You are always playing the game. You can never stop playing.

    2) When you are not thinking about the game, you have won.

    3) The moment you start thinking about it again, you have lost.

While The Game is an interesting look into game theory, let's skip over that.  It becomes interesting when I throw in a fourth rule:

    4) When you hear the phrase "pink hippopotamus" you will think of the game.

This rule seems a bit confusing.  The first three are easy enough to enforce.  They're just conditions. However, the fourth rule is odd.
How can I possibly enforce it?
The truth is I don't need to.
Memories form in chains and the neurons connect, therefore, if you remember one thing, it leads to you remembering another. If you want to remember one thing, you have to remember the chain leading up to it.

Basically, what rule 4 did was connect your memory of the game to your memory of the phrase "pink hippopotamus." It's not permanent, as the connections between your neurons are always changing. Sometimes you'll remember it, sometimes you won't but the association will always be there.

Now go say "pink hippopotamus" to someone. While they will be completely and utterly confused, you will be loosing the game. Then you will explain why you said "pink hippopotamus" and they will also loose the game.

Have a fantastically dandy day, everybody!

December 21 - End of the World?

It is the 341st day of the year...wow, where did the time go? (342nd in leap years)
There are only 24 days remaining until the end of the year...and according to the rumor of the world ending on December 21st, well, we may not even make it there.
I seriously doubt this will be the case, though.
Technically the world should have already ended one or two times before.
What a load of crap.

Instant Chat Emoticon Message

So I was talking to my boyfriend tonight...and I love using the little emoticons on the Facebook instant chat box...so this is what I ended up writing. <3 I really do mean it. He's very important to me now. I used to hate people who obsessed over their partners...but now I have become one of those people.

Tonight = HOMEWORK CATCH-UP NIGHT!

Three weeks of heavy procrastination and a serious case of senioritis, and tonight I did the unbelievable...Three papers done and two question packets for my film appreciation class, and I worked on my reading labs for my english class. I also started to work on my opinion paper for my english class, which is due thursday, and I got all of my math homework done, got nearly done with slots for my math class, and then I did some serious brain-food snacking. All of this was accomplished thanks to free time in band class, intervention period (which I stayed for today - first time I have done so far this year), and the one and a half hours I have been home since I got done working tonight at 9. I feel seriously accomplished.

GLEE - Full Performance of "Crazy"/"U Drive Me Crazy"

Two Kinds Of People

Some people go around pretending to care.
Some people get close to someone until another comes along and then they leave their old companion alone.
Some people actually have a heart:
They truly care for you and would do just about anything to make sure you are happy, even at a personal cost.
They are there to listen, a shoulder to cry on or lean on, especially when times get tough, they don't go running.

Procrastination Success

Am I good at procrastinating? The answer to that would be a yes.

Bowling High Score

Random Fact:
My highest score in bowling to this date = 213

Random and Bored

I'm suppose to be writing a film review on the movie, Walk the Line...but I really don't feel like it right now. Instead, I am listening to the song I Write Sins Not Tragedies by Panic! At The Disco and visiting my blogs.
So.
Now I am bored and since I don't really have anything interesting to write about, things are about to start getting random. First of all, one of my friends has the most amusingly high-pitched sneeze I have ever heard. Second of all, it's amusing that my best friend and I are sitting next to eachother right now and our tops are similar (v-necked cami's that are both shades of pink and have lace trim at the top). We are also both typing on our blogs and seem to be typing at around the same rate and we tend to stop around the same times, so it's really amusing.

Singing Range - Changed!?

My voice doesn't seem to work like it used to...one hit on the head pretty hard by a fence being pulled down on me (thanks to a paniced horse that i love still anyways) really seems to have messed up my singing range. Every year my high school choir sings the Hallelujah Chorus and I sing the high soprano, however, this year I seem to be having issues hitting the high A...or is it a high B? Well, whatever - the point is that I can no longer sing the part that I have sang easily and happily for the last three years. That really grinds my gears...but I'm working on trying to get my normal range back. However, being a lower soprano or even an alto is always an option to me because, thankfully, I have a pretty good range.

Old Friends vs New Friends

I have had my same friends for years and it feels weird knowing I am becoming more and more distanced from them this year. I really hate drama, and I plan on trying to avoid it, but my friends are my everything - they have been there through the good and the bad, they have been there through the fights and the struggles, and I am hoping they will be here for the times ahead. I rely on our friendship to keep me sane at school, because high school is a horrible place when you're alone. I would be less worried about this if my friends didn't keep posting things proving how different we are now - and how different we always knew we were. However, I appreciate their honesty on the situation because it is opening up my eyes and showing me that even though I am opening up and being less secluded inside of myself around new people, I still need those few friends that know me better than anyone else, even if they no longer feel as if they do. You see, just over two weeks ago I got a great boyfriend and I worry that the problem with my friendship with my old friends is the fact that they feel as if I am replacing them. I have never truly had a boyfriend before, so I understand that me spending time elsewhere is something new that everyone will need time to get used to. However, when it comes down to my old friends and the newer friends I have been starting to obtain, I will never give up the friendship I have with my old friends (until they do) because it means far too much to me. This does not mean I will change who I am or that I will not be spending time with my boyfriend, however, it rather means that I will be trying to find a balance that we can all work with and grow back into our old friendships as time allows.

School / Life

School was expected to be horrible this year because we were changed to an alternating block schedule that no one could understand, but now that we're actually living by that schedule, it doesn't seem at all bad anymore. In fact, it's really nice because we get more time to finish our homework, then. :)
Life hasn't disappointed me at all so far since school has started, well except for once when I started to forgive someone that doesn't deserve to be forgiven, but that's not the point. This year a really great guy has decided he likes me and we are now going out - I still can't believe how great it is to be around him, but we are both weird and we can share our lives with each other now. (Not in the dumb way) We talk about our problems and how our family is, we ask each other questions and learn unique things, and we enjoy sharing more about ourselves whenever we get the chance to see each other.
This school year isn't going to be so bad after all. :)

A Great Day

I can't help smiling now. Just had a great date with an even greater guy. With a day that wasn't over 90 degrees, we were able to get some ice cream and walked around town while learning more about each other. Haha, we talked about a few unique things, but I enjoyed every moment of our date.

Friends Change - Pregnant & Rude

Sometimes friends change. Recently one of mine did. She came to the town I live in as an awkward, shy, and friendly girl that's weirdness soon had her close to my other friends and I. When we reached high school, though, she changed - and not for the better. Soon she became the class flirt and then that's when things really started to go downhill. She slept around, deserted her friends because her boyfriends seemed more important to her, she said some things that are unforgivably horrible, and now she's pregnant. She wanted to get pregnant, too, because she didn't want her boyfriend to be able to leave her. (she has abandonment issues) Now she has just him, the 14 week-old fetus inside of her, and whatever family will stick with them after what they have done. After almost half a year of talk, she finally got what she wanted. Now she won't be graduating high school, she will be a teenage mother, and she still needs to get a job. After today, though, I will no longer worry about her. This was her choice, she could have done so much better, and now although I wish nothing bad on her - I don't want her in my life ever again.
This is the last thing I sent her, this says all I have left to say to her, and now I am done.

Dear Sudden Down-Pour of Rain,

I would like some warning next time before you unleash that much rain.
Thanks to you, my little black kitten is half-soaked, there was some water
that got inside the house and more in the shed. So in other words, start with
a slight rain, then become steady, and THEN pour. In that order next time,
please, not in the reverse order like you just did.

Sincerely,
An Unhappily Wet Person

iPod - The Shuffle Questions Game

Okay, so I got bored and remembered a game my cousin introduced me to. It's called the "iPod Shuffle Game" as far as I know and it's sometimes really creepy because of how the answers to the questions match up perfectly to your life. For those of you who don't know the game - it's easy. Get a music player or listen to the radio or go to your liked and/or favorited videos on YouTube. Whatever you choose, all that matters is that you have music and you need to know the names of the songs. Now, find a list of questions, or make on up like I did below. Now follow these instructions if you are using a music player:

Shuffle game rules:

Summer Summary

Summer is flying by. It's been mostly just work and sleep, but I have had some really amazing days with my friends, too. Now that I am starting to force myself out of my shell, going places isn't as strange to imagine. I used to never go places with my friends because I felt weird if I had to drive or they did. If a parent drove, however, it was like my childhood was coming back to me and I was perfectly happy going all over.
This summer I have taken my friends to the mall, hung out with friends at the fair, and even gone horseback riding. Apparently I am a natural at riding horses, so I am catching on fast and will soon be ready for prolonged galloping. (Galloping is no problem, but my body's not used to it yet and it complains) Well, I hope these last few weeks of summer will prove interesting and eventful.
However, a recent tragedy may have made riding a no for the rest of the summer and I will be pretty upset if I can't ride at the place I have been riding at ever again. I am emotionally attached to those horses and my friend that's taking me is so attached that I don't even want to know how devastated and destroyed she would be if they banned her from coming back.
Please, summer, allow the last few weeks to be promising and happy with no more downfalls or injuries.

Scheduling...I Don't Want To Miss Band

I wish I hadn't been stupid.
I said I didn't want to be in band next year, but I know am starting to realize just how much I will miss it if I'm not in it. I e-mailed my guidance counselor, but a stinking automated reply came back saying she will be unavailable until registration day. I really hope she will be able to get me back into band without taking away my good classes, though.

?Remember These?

Remember back into the 1990's. Do you remember those photo messages we used to have to figure out? They would use arrows and pictures to make us guess what they were trying to tell us. Well, this facebook cover photo I saw made me think back to those.

Sad Song - Really Good Meaning, Though

If you're in the mood for a song that will play with your emotions or just want to give something new a listen, here's a song that I absolutely love and enjoy hearing again and again: Whisky Lullaby
Caution - it is about death and could be hard for some to listen to.

Ankle Pain - What Is It, Though?

My ankle is hurting pretty bad tonight.
It doesn't hurt when I just walk on it, but if I turn it to the side, twist it, or stretch it...
That is when the pain attacks me.
If anyone has any clue on what may be going on, please let me know.
But I guess two years of ignoring this pain is long enough.
I will probably schedule a doctors appointment even though I know it won't be hurting when I get there. That's just how things work for me; and then, of course, they will say it is all in my head.
(sigh)
I hate this.

I had no idea he was real...

Is This Drought Over?

I can't even begin to try and express just how wonderful it feels to have rain again. We had been a few weeks into a horrible drought, causing much damage to crops. Now we're getting storms again and although they possess a lot of power and the ability to reck havoc near our homes, we desperately need the rain that these storms are bringing.

Apple Products = Possibly Constipation?

Can apple products cause constipation?
My brother's girlfriend just asked if apples could cause her stools to become less loose, and I decided to look it up. After a brief visit to google followed by two different links that looked promising, I now seem to have the correct answer to that question.
"Banana, Rice, Apples, and Toast are suppose to help with lose stools.  So with constipation you are suppose to limit, or eliminate those and do the P's like Pears, Plums, Peas etc." -SueBee175
"Everything I have read suggests apples are a laxative actually. Hence 'an apple a day'. It helps regulate digestion along with provides nutrients. However there is always the consideration too, that one can have too much of a good thing so limiting your intake is suggested. " -ravenfish
Overall, it seems to me that the conclusion to if apples cause constipation, the answer is no. Apples help your digestive system work smoothly and should never cause any issues involving hardened stools, or constipation.

Crazy The Cat

Admit it, this is cute.
He's about a one and a half years old and his name is Crazy.

Currently, he is attacking his step-brother and just being a grown-up kitten.

Crazy isn't mine, but he's my little brother's kitten.
He's too cute not to be posted.
Enjoy his adorability.

Sometimes People Are Just Horrible

Sometimes people are just horrible. Once again being friends with a guy has been assumed to be more than just a friendship and now someone hates me / is very unhappy with me. I AM JUST FRIENDS WITH HIM!

Ruby (Lizard) Has A Broken Leg!

My brother's girlfriend's lizard has a broken leg.
For surgery, the cost would be about $3,000.
I love Ruby, the lizard, but...
She's already had one surgery.
And that was about $1,500.
That seemed horrible, so...
Three thousand dollars...
I hope that leg can heal itself.

Horseback Riding + Bowling = Bad Idea

So I learned that horseback riding and bowling do not work very well together now. About three or four days after my first horseback ride ever, I started to feel bow-legged. Then on monday I went bowling...haha, that didn't turn out well for me. A few times I believe a tear came to my eye, it was that bad. I must have looked absolutely ridiculous. Haha, oh well. Even though it hurt, I beat my little brother by 11 pins. And I still was able to have fun!

Summer Is Just Drama, Not At All A Break From It

Summer's getting kinda bla again. Every time I try to do something I get a headache. And every option of hanging out with my friends hasn't worked out and then they've made me feel bad because suddenly I have let them down. Most of the time someone will ask me to go do something and I will have to work or there is some other commitment. So they try to convince me a few more times, and I have to explain each time. That makes me feel like a pretty crappy friend, so I wish those of you who are doing this to me would just understand. I have a job, I have a family that has commitments planned way further in advance than an hour before, and I also sometimes don't feel good or just don't have the resources. Like when I was asked to go swimming today, I would have loved to, but I need a new swimsuit and I would have in no way fit into that person's spare suit. And now I'm complaining to people who probably don't even care or just to the ones who are mad at me for the reasons I just stated.

Horseback Riding For the First Time Today!

A wonderful experience of freedom and unleashed speed, a moment of bliss and perfect connection.
My first time of riding a beautiful stallion, although he was a rough ride and not nearly perfect,
He sure seemed perfect to me. His name is Levi, and I hope to see him again soon -
from the nestled little spot where I so happily sit.
Horseback Riding = First time today.
The rest of my life = More horseback riding to come!

Horseback Riding...Hopefully

Possibly going horseback riding for the first time tomorrow...now all I have to do is tell my mother...

Okay, so my mother has grown up thinking badly of horses because someone she knew fell off a horse while he was training it to jump over hurdles. The horse tripped and the man became paralyzed, so now she believes that that will happen to me. Kaci, my brother's girlfriend, rides all the time, and I'm going to try to get her to help me convince my mother tomorrow that if anything were to go wrong I would be in good hands. Also, I need to convince her that I will come back alive, uninjured, and not in too much pain. (Since it's my first time riding, I expect that my legs will be sore.)

Forever In My Heart - Rats!

I love my little girls, but Luna has always been such a trouble-maker that I'm always having to prove that I'm more stubborn than she is just trying to get her. But once I have her she's adventuring around on my shoulders, down my back, and all over the area. She often gives me little kisses and I love having her around. I also tried getting Sky out, but I had her out earlier today and she seems too content in her cage to be taken out right now. However this post may sound, both of my little girls mean the world to me, and not one is better than the other. In my heart, they both have equal territory.

Now if you're a facebook user and you've ever heard of Status Shuffle, you may recognize some of these.  I never use someone else's words as my status because, to me, a status is how your emotions or feelings can be released. Today I'm thinking about my crush and how he may or may not know I like him. He may or may not feel the same way. Yet I do not know because I'm too scared to flat out say it to him. How can he not know when other's have already guessed it? One I thought already knew, and one I never expected to figure it out, and a few others know because they're my close friends and I trust them with the information of who I like. Now he's going off to college soon, you see, so I hope to tell him before he leaves. Even if it turns out he doesn't feel the same, I can deal with rejection way easier than I can deal with just flat out not knowing. Here are some status's that I thought seemed to make it appear that facebook's status shuffle understands me and how I feel. I know it's just other girls like me expressing what they feel - what I am also feeling - but sometimes you wonder how some internet little gadget could come up with words to voice your inner most feelings...

You have no idea how much your smile and hugs mean to me. They can change my day from glummy and sad to bright and happy real quick.

Hearing a love song and realizing mid-song how much I'm reminded of you makes me realize a few things:
1) I miss you
2) I'm falling for you

Just seeing you makes my day. Hearing you makes me smile. Everything you do doesn't bother me it makes me love you more and more everyday :)

I know you are flirting with me every time i see you. Why won't you just ask me out already?

Maybe one day I'll get the guts to tell you how I feel...But till then we'll stay just friends.

It's hard to find the perfect time to say something you know is gonna change everything...

Summer Rages On

Summer is carrying on, and the stress levels are climaxing. My family is struggling to cooperate - fights anew, words that should not be spoken...now I wish for the worst out of anger, but knowing that my thoughts are wrong and should not be thought at all - that does not destroy the thoughts themselves. Weeks are becoming months as the fights continue to strengthen, but hopefully the downfall will lead us to happier times and not times of worse sorrow and anger.

TODAY (Letting Go / Sleep Equals A Better Mood)

Today I learned to get past my objection to someone just because of past events. It felt great just letting go of the past and letting bygones be bygones. (I hope you understand that term) Today I also learned that...sleep is necessary if you want to be in a good mood...I know, weird, right? Who would have guessed that sleeping enough would help your mood as well as also fuel you up with energy? Haha, well, I hope you all get to sleep well out there and I look forward to seeing you all back here for my next post. Thank you all for your time.

Why Are These Started?

So is it just me or do these posts seem to have gotten real old and real annoying?

Not A Good Idea

Can someone see a positive ending to this?
Because the endings I think of all involve blood.
Lots and lots of blood...
Some flashing lights...
And PAIN!

NOT a Joke When You Wish This!

How is it a joke to say that you hope someday a tornado hits my house and that I don't know it's coming and don't get downstairs in time?
Apparently that's a funny joke to some people, because today at work one of my co-workers said that to me because I was commenting on how technology is only hurting people. For example, I could be outside doing something that would get me somewhere in life, but I'm addicted to the computer, so I'm sitting here instead.

Work = Where's the time for my Friends?

Been working a lot lately. It's nice having something to do, but I want to spend more time with my friends. Not that those I work with aren't my friends, too. But I do have promises that I would hang out with my bestest of friends, and so far the promise is not being carried out.

Minecraft - I can't get it!

Have you ever played Minecraft?
It's a game full of squares.
Sounds dumb to you, doesn't it?
Well it's not.
I desperately want to play it.
Yet I cannot.
Because the cards are getting declined.
This irritates me.

Math Class / Not Ready To Leave High School

I don't want to leave my high school next year. I know that sounds weird, but I'm not ready to leave behind the memories or the friends I have made. Here's a link to a picture of my math class this year. I wrote about it in my 'The Pictures That I See' blog and I think you may agree with what I wrote. Go ahead, just check it out.

Outside and NOT Lazy

When you're trying to feel better, get your lazy butt offline and go enjoy some fresh air. I always find myself tired, inside, and bored. Then I find the strength to go outside, and before long, I was running around playing tennis with my little brother. Burned some weight and had a blast doing so. (P.S. totally didn't loose weight, I don't really even need to)
